Carboplatin was originally added to the complementary list of the EML in 2009 as a treatment of advanced ovarian cancer.
In 2015, as part of the comprehensive review of cancer medicines undertaken by the Expert Committee, listing for carboplatin on the complementary list of the EML for use in treatment protocols for non-small cell lung cancer was specifically endorsed.
