Summary of evidence and Expert Committee recommendations
The EMLc Subcommittee noted that sodium nitrite is licensed for use in cyanide poisoning, but the clinical need in children was not clear. The Subcommittee therefore recommended that the public health relevance of sodium nitrite should be clarified before it is added to the EMLc.
