Triclabendazole is the treatment of choice for Fasciola infections, a significant neglected tropical disease. Although not licensed for use in children in high-income countries, there is some experience of use of it. Noting that there are significant research gaps for medicines for children in this area, the EMLc Subcommittee decided to endorse this product as essential but highlighted the need for adequate studies to determine the effectiveness and safety of these medicines in children.
